Description and Highlights

Family History Expos celebrates 10 Years in business at our 9th Annual St. George Family History Expo!

Opening Keynote

James L. Tanner : Has a BA Degree in Spanish, an M. Degree in Linguistics from the University of Utah, and a JD Degree in Law from Arizona State University.

He has 37 years experience as a trial attorney in Arizona. He also has over 30 years experience in genealogical research and is the author of The Guide to FamilySearch Online.

James is an avid Blogger and his genealogy blog, Genealogy's Star is one of the top genealogy blogs in the US. He has been a presenter at a number of Expos and Conferences. He is the former owner of a retail computer business and Apple Macintosh software company.

James is the social media coordinator at Family History Expos.

Closing Keynote

Holly T. Hansen : President and founder of Family History Expos, Inc., has been instrumental in helping thousands understand the principles, strategies, and sources they can use to trace their roots in today's ever-changing technological environment.

She is the mastermind behind more than 50 Family History Expos, held across the United States, and numerous Retreats at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah and repositories in diverse cities. She is dedicated to helping individuals and families, one-on-one, with their personal research needs. Currently, she is involved in creating podcasts, webinars, and video presentations to help people move forward in their family history endeavors.

Holly’s titles include author, lecturer, editor and publisher. She has produced more than 100 unique syllabus and class handout books for Family History Expos attendees. She is a former editor of Everton's Genealogical Helper magazine, and editor of the 10th and 11th editions of The Handybook for Genealogists, with more than one million copies sold. She has also authored The Directory of North American Railroads, Trekking for Ancestors, and co-authored a series of 16 family history interview books entitled Celebrating and Capturing the Memories.

Holly and her husband, Chris P. Hansen, have been married for 36 years and are the parents of five remarkable children. Holly received an Honors BA in History from Weber State University and continues to dedicate time to education on a daily basis.

    To make a reservation, please call 888-236-2427 and tell the reservationist you are with the Family History Expo group attending a conference at the Fairfield Inn in St. George, UT.

    The cutoff date for reservations is February 3, 2013. After this date, any rooms not guaranteed will be charged at the regular rate based on availability.

    The Fairfield Inn is located 1/4 mile from the Dixie Center and offers a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast, complimentary internet and parking, and refrigerators and microwaves in each room. Check-in is at 3:00pm and check-out is at noon.

    To make reservations, call 435-673-7000 and tell the reservationist you are with the Family History Expo group.

    The cutoff date for reservations is January 21, 2013. After this date, reservations will be taken on a space available basis only.

    Clarion Suites is located 1/2 mile from the Dixie Convention Center. They offer a complimentary hot breakfast buffet, complimentary parking, wireless internet, and refrigerators/microwaves in each room. Check-in is at 3:00pm and check-out is at 11:00am.

    To make a reservation, please call the Front Desk at 435-628-0464 and request the FHE13 rate.

    The cutoff date for making reservations is January 4, 2013. Reservations made after the cutoff date are subject to availability and will be charged at the current daily rate.

    The Crystal Inn is located just over 1 mile from the Dixie Center. A Hot Breakfast Buffet is included, as well as complimentary parking and internet. Rooms have refrigerators and microwaves. Check-in time is 3:00pm and check-out is noon.
