We are thrilled to be coming back to the Gwinnett Center in Duluth, GA for the Georgia Family History Expo 2012 on November 9-10.  Take advantage of our pre registration for only $89. The cost will be going up to $110, so don’t delay sign up today. Onsite registration will begin and the exhibit hall will open at 1 p.m. on Friday November 9th. The event will close at 9 p.m. Exhibits and registration will re-open at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The exhibit hall will close at 4 p.m. Prizes donated by exhibitors will be given away both days and Grand Prizes donated by sponsors will be given away at the closing ceremony. Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc. (AAHGS) Exhibiting at Event

The Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc. (AAHGS) is a non-profit, membership organization committed to the preservation of the history, genealogy, and culture of the African-ancestored populations of the local, national, and international community.

AAHGS stresses the importance of African American history and genealogy by encouraging active participation in researching, recording, and documenting personal family histories. Membership is open to the public.

Metro Atlanta Chapter Objectives:

  • To provide a forum in the Metro Atlanta area for the sharing of historical and genealogical information and research sources about African Americans.
  • To organize workshops and a speakers’ forum to meet the needs and interests of chapter members.
  • To compile research that will preserve African American history in the United States.

James L. Tanner will Speak at Expo

James L. Tanner : Actively involved in genealogical research, is the blogger for Genealogy’s Star Blog. A featured blogger at RootsTech 2011 and 2012, James is on the support staff of the FamilySearch Research Wiki and is Moderator for Arizona and Utah. He is the author of The Guide to FamilySearch Online.
