Ask-the-Pros: Why Experts Search the Marriages First

Event Date/Time

December 30, 2016 10:00 AM   -   December 30, 2016 11:30 AM

Description and Highlights

Join us for our final day of Ask-the-Pros adventures in 2016, where you will discover why marriage records are so important to your genealogy. You will also learn that there are more than 16 types of marriage records created at the time the event occured (some pre-marriage and some post-marrige too). If you can't find one record type, surely you will find another.

Arlene Eakle and Holly T. Hansen will be live online to guide you and answer your research questions.

For those of you with hard-to-find ancestors this just may be the opportunity for you to get some personal help with your research. Remember, during our Ask-the-Pros lessons, you have the opportunity to submit a personal research question on a specific ancestor and have our Experts discuss it live online.

This personal evaluation is included in the cost of registration. Register now, then go to our FREE DOWNLOADS page and download our "Timeline Research Tool." Fill in your ancestor's name, your name, and date. Then add a research goal. Fill in some vital dates for your ancestor based on age. Be sure to include locations—from where you know they lived—based on a document or family data.

Have your questions written down and ready to ask once we get online.
