Come join us for great research classes, technology classes and so much more will be offered to assist you with your family history goals!

Plan ahead for meals and purchase them as you register.To guarantee your meals please pre-pay for the Friday evening Banquet and Saturday Box lunch as you register.

Full registration includes access to the Friday evening keynote presentations. Those wanting to attend the banquet must have a banquet ticket to attend the dinner.

Class Handouts are included with registration. PDF handouts are available for download directly from the website once you have completed your online registration. You are encouraged to print copies and bring them with you for the classes you plan to attend. You also have the option to purchase our 2014 Family History Expos Class Handouts in printed book format for only $25.00. The 2014 edition contains handouts for several Expos, you will enjoy the bonus materials. Purchase the 2014 Class Handouts as you register or directly from our online Store. Notice: We are not providing handouts on CD this year as many computers no longer have CD drives. Be sure to bring copies with you or pre-purchase the printed version and we will deliver it to you at the Expo.

Opening Keynote

Arlene H. Eakle, Ph.D. President and founder of The Genealogical Institute, Inc., Dr. Eakle is a professional genealogist with more than 30 years' experience in research, consulting, lecturing, and writing. She has addressed more than 600 conferences, expos, seminars, and retreats.

Dr. Eakle is an expert in tracing families from New York, Southern U.S., British Isles, Switzerland, and parts of Germany. She claims a 96% success rate.

Dr. Eakle writes more than six blogs—Genealogy Evidence (since 2006), Kentucky, Scots-Irish, New York, Tennessee, Virginia and The Kingdoms: England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and the Isles of the Sea. The focus of The Kingdoms blog is on the time period before America was settled, up to 1750.

The Genealogy Library Center, Inc., a non-profit genealogy library established by Arlene and her husband Alma Eakle, will be open to the public: With more than 100 manuscript collections, including a 6 ½ ton collection of English research materials; the Holly T. Hansen United States Book Collection (especially Virginia and Kentucky marriage records); and the Conner-Bishop Book Collection of more than 70,000 volumes.

Something you may not know about Dr. Eakle: She was an ethnic surname consultant to the US Bureau of the Census and the National Archives for the 1990 Federal Census.

Holly T. Hansen President and founder of Family History Expos, Inc., has been instrumental in helping thousands understand the principles, strategies, and sources they can use to trace their roots in today's ever-changing technological environment.

She is the mastermind behind more than 50 Family History Expos, held across the United States, and numerous Retreats at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, and repositories in diverse cities. She is dedicated to helping individuals and families, one-on-one, with their personal research needs. Currently, she is involved in creating podcasts, webinars, and video presentations to help people move forward in their family history endeavors.

Holly’s titles include author, lecturer, editor and publisher. She has produced more than 100 unique syllabus and class handout books for Family History Expos attendees. Hansen is a former editor of Everton's Genealogical Helper magazine, and editor of the 10th and 11th editions of The Handybook for Genealogists, with more than one million copies sold. She has also authored The Directory of North American Railroads, Trekking for Ancestors, co-authored a series of 16 family history interview books entitled Celebrating and Capturing the Memories and 20 in-depth Research Guides for many aspects of family history research.

Holly and her husband, Chris P. Hansen, have been married for 38 years and are the parents of five remarkable children. Holly received an Honors BA in History from Weber State University and continues to dedicate time to education on a daily basis.

Ruth Ellen Maness, AG 35+ years experience in Germanic & Scandinavian records, former Senior Consultant at the FamilySearch Family History Library; Co-author, German and Scandinavian Research Guide; German Research Guide: Sources Strategies, & Methodology; Scandinavian Research Guide: Sources and Strategies; Locating Ancestors in the Old Country: A Research Guide; and Passport to Paradise: The Copenhagen "Mormon" Passenger Lists, Legacy of Sacrifice. She is frequently a lecturer at the National Genealogical Society annual conferences, Federation of Genealogical Societies annual conferences, Brigham Young University Genealogy Conferences and many other regional & local conferences; Maness is the former Instructor/Track Coordinator at the Salt Lake Institute. Maness is the author for, Scandinavia – Questions & Answers in Everton’s Genealogical Helper magazine. Maness spends at least 6 weeks each year doing field research in Scandinavia, Europe, Germany, and Poland. She also has done field trips in England, South Africa, and Eastern/Southern/Mid-Western United States of America.

Ruby Coleman Ruby Coleman: Professional genealogical researcher, instructor, lecturer, and freelance writer. Coleman has been doing professional genealogy research for over 40 years. She has lectured at national, state, and local conferences as well as online webinars. She is the past-president of the Nebraska State Genealogical Society and the 2011 winner of the Nebraska Genealogist of the Year Award from the NSGS. Coleman is currently president of the North Platte Genealogical Society in North Platte, Nebraska.
