1:00 pm : Summit County Courthouse and Local Cemeteries Tour

(All Levels) Tour of Summit County courthouse in Coalville, Utah. We will meet at the Courthouse by 12:45 pm and the tour begins at 1:00 pm sharp. We will visit the County Offices, Historical Society Office, and Museum all located in the Courthouse. We will visit historic cemeteries in the area.

 
5:30 pm : A Gift of Family History

(All Levels) Holly will share stories that have kept her engaged in family history for many years. She will also show some great ways to share your discoveries with family, friends, and the world. Learn to organize, preserve and share your family history discoveries.

9:30 am : Celebrating My Family Tree Software Setup and Organization

(All Levels) Learn how to use your genealogy software to organize your research files. We will be using Celebrating My Family Tree genealogy software during this class. You are welcome to bring your laptop (PC) and follow along with the presentation. (Software is available for purchase online or during the Retreat in the exhibit area.)

 
1:30 pm : Goals to Focus Your Research

(All Levels) This class will help you prioritize your time and efforts as you begin a research project. Once you have a list of possible research objectives, you can then arrange the appropriate order for research.

 
3:00 pm : Organize, Preserve and Share

(All Levels) This class will help you to know what to do with all the information you accumulate while doing research. The best way to organize your information is by using a genealogy program that has the basic tools necessary to organize and preserve your research, and then share it with others. We will review the basic steps to entering information from your research into a genealogy program.
